Co. Care Taker Vice Chancellor and Ag. DVC Finance and Administration: Mr Joseph Martin Ongom Owiny is Proprietor and Executive Director at JOMO Investments and Trustee Services (July 2009 to date) a consultancy engaged in offering retirement benefit and capital markets services. Martin has been at the vanguard of rolling out retirement benefit scheme international training professional development programs in the region over the last twenty years. JOMO Investments and Trustee Services is pioneering the way forward in East Africa’s retirement benefits and capital markets industry through training, counseling, face to face and multimedia client interaction.
Martin is a participant in the Uganda Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Investor Education Campaign Initiative and Issuer Education Program – Resource Person (November 2016 to September 2023) implementing speaking engagements on behalf of CMA under the Investor Education campaign resulting in outreach to over One Million (1,000,0000) potential capital markets investors.
Over the last twenty years, Martin has had an extremely successful career having severally been awarded various Kikoyongo Capital Markets Awards in Uganda during his tenor at Stanbic Investments (2002-2011). Further to this as Head of Business at KCB Bank Uganda Limited, in the Think Business Banking Awards 2014 – East African Edition, Martin led the KCB Uganda team to attain the Best Recovery Award, exemplifying the fact that the bank was the number one turned around commercial bank in East Africa over the previous three years. The said turnaround of the bank delivered exemplary financial performance, product growth and business development. As a result of this KCB Bank Uganda Limited registered a Profit before Tax (PBT) among the top ten Ugandan commercial banks for the very first time as at its December 2013 financial statement results.
