In 2004, the Synod of Lango Diocese again reviewed their earlier position and approved the recommendation of ASULs establishment. However, circumstances beyond control deferred its establishment until 2008. The first cohort of students was admitted in 2009/2010 Academic year after its programmes were accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
